Hello everyone,
Yesterday I was reading some news and going on Twitter in the morning, and I put my phone (Nokia 5/TA-1024, running Android 9) down on a table. I wanted to go back and unlock it a few minutes later, but it wasn't detecting any input from neither the fingerprint reader or the on/off button.
I soft reset it, and when it turned back on, I went to check my music app. It was immediately weird to me that something was displaying incorrectly, as the song title and artist were both missing, both originally in Chinese. I thought it could be the app being a bit slow to catch up with the system booting, but a few minutes later I get a notification, and that one didn't display the characters either. It was the usual unknown/broken character box replacing it. It seems that this also applies to special characters, such as fancy text fonts and such.
I should mention that I did not download any new updates or apps that could've caused this issue, as the phone freezing was just about 10 minutes after I began using it that day. I launched it in safe boot mode, and that did not help with anything. After emailing Nokia support, I was also told to get rid of all cache. Doing that, I went to restart my phone to make sure it work, with no success.
It's also to be mentioned that some UTC-8 characters DO display, I checked it on a UTC-8 table online. Some of them just show the usual cross-in-box.
It's been a full day, and everything I've tried so far was a dead end. What can I do?
