Im using ES file explorer, it displays that im currently using 16gb of my storage to a total of 39gb, but with only 11gb avaialble, this numbers inludes my sdcard which is 15gb. my phone storage has a total of 32gb, but deducting the memory the os takes, it has a total of 24, it also shows a maximum of 24gb when I access it with my pc. what kind of situation is this and how to solve it?

It's not how much storage the OS takes, it's how large a partition was allocated for the OS. The OS could take 6GB, but the partition could be 15GB, and ou can't access that unused 9GB.

Install a terminal app, like Terminal Emulator for Android and issue the command

    df

Look for a line with sdcard or emulated (or even userdata - it depends on the manufacturer) - that's your available storage. The other stuff is other partitions, used by the phone, and not available to you.

im guessing that the terminal app would only display your total usable space, if so, would a factory reset remove these partitions because i still remember that when i have this phone for the first time it has a memory way more than 13gb. so im trying to take back the 12gb that is occupied by these partitions.
