When I view an app I received a notification for, such as a new message on Message+ or Gmail or even a weather alert, the phone will constantly ring the acknowledge tone non stop until I turn the volume off, then back up. This only happens if I have the volume on rather than in vibrate, and will only stop when I turn the sound off and then back on. When the constant notification ringing initially begins, the phone freezes for 2-3 seconds and the phone is unresponsive to any button presses. I have tried turning notifications off, but as it is not app specific, I'm not sure how to turn off the notification for a "read acknowledgement" (not that I want that anyway).

    I have a Moto Z2 with Android 8.0.0

    Thank you

Does this happen in safe mode? It sounds like an app, a notification app, one that deals with ringtones maybe or a third party launcher.
