Can notification sounds be set in the contacts on the LGG8, not just in a convesation thread?

Since oreo you can no longer put individual text tones for people in your contacts. You can only do it for active conversations. I am wondering if LGG8 kept the feature where you can set tones for each individual in your contacts and not worry about losing them when you delete a text thread

I just did by clicking in the link in my post this very minute. Are you looking a browser? If you see it in a browser, but not when you run Play, if may not run on the G8.
