Google Play Store unable to update apps

[Android Central Question]

I tried to update an app today and while Google Play would download it, the installation would fail. The error had a link that suggested clearing both cache and data on the Google Play Store. However, now the My apps section of the Google Play store is empty, showing no installed apps or updates, even when pressing the refresh button next to "No updates available".

Not really sure what the next step should be. I've clearned cache and data on Google Play Store and Service again, restarted the phone, but I can't update anything.

Welcome to Android Central! Typically, it works if you clear the cache/data of the Play Store app and the Download Manager app. Clearing cache/data from Play Services might cause other issues (like your app history disappearing). Does it persist if you reboot? Or remove your Google account from the phone, then add it back?
