Android Central Question

Hi everyone

I've got a Galaxy S9 and Ive been trying to move files, especially photos to the SD card but it always changes the date of the pics to the date I am moving (or copying) the pics, it also erases the exif information from the pictures.
I tried doing this many different ways and no luck so far, any simple way to do this? it is driving me insane.

Thank you very much
Dan

There is nothing you can do about the file dates. Unfortunately this is a bad design of the android file system.

Any correctly written picture viewer will be looking at the EXIF data to get the correct dates of an image, not the file dates. If you need a better picture viewer, I recommend "piktures" by Diune.

There may be apps or scripts available that can reset the file dates to be the dates from the EXIF data, but I have never attempted to find such things.

Simply copying the files from the internal storage to the SD card should never remove the EXIF data. Which apps are you using that are doing such wrongful things?
