Why are my photos being cut off after capture

[Android Central Question]

My Samsung S9 plus selfie camera is cutting my pictures (like its zooming in and cropping on its own). It cuts half of the people's heads off and looks like its zoomed in on them. This occurs AFTER the initial normal picture has been snapped. Zoom was not being used during the picture, I've changed all the settings, changed the camera from full to 1:1 and everything in between. Nothing fixes the issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Is this only when you're trying to share it using Facebook Messenger or Instagram? Or does the camera actually save the photo like this to your phone's internal storage, and that's how it looks in the gallery app?
