Android Central Question

I just bought a 2016 Moto Z droid knowing that, though it was a verizon phone, it'd be unlocked so I could just put my metroPCS sim card in it. I put the sim card in and it said 'SIM card is not from Verizon' and so I figured it was the APN. I went to go add the MetroPCS APN(I had previously done this with a 2016 Droid Maxx) and I saw that it said 'Access Point Names settings are not available for this user' and I cannot add or edit APNS. It is set to global and I can only change network operator and select network when it is set to LTE/GSM/UMTS and it does not bring up MetroPCS or T-Mobile. I'd genuinely like to know how to fix this as I know it is possible.
