Android Central Question

I recently purchased a pair of Bluetooth earbuds. The earbuds automatically turn off when put back in their charging case, but I often forget to turn off the Bluetooth on my phone. Can I set the Bluetooth on my phone to turn off automatically once the connected Bluetooth device is unpaired? I feel like this may save battery, and also I don't want my phone to be visible to all Bluetooth devices in the area when I've forgotten to turn it off.

I don't know a ton about Bluetooth, so I realize I'm making some assumptions. Perhaps I should actually be asking: does enabling Bluetooth drain a phone battery more quickly? And does having your phone visible through Bluetooth to other devices in the area make your data less secure?

If no and no, I guess it actually doesn't matter that much whether or not I remember to turn off Bluetooth...

Thank you!! :)

They aren't unpairing, they're disconnecting. (Pairing is getting the phone to recognize that device [or those devices]. Just so we're talking the same things.)

Does having Bluetooth enabled make the phone less secure? Definitely. There's always someone coming up with a Bluetooth hack,

Does it cause the battery to drain more? It has to, even if it enters a "sleep" mode - it's still going to draw a little current.

3rd party apps like Tasker (paid) or IFTTT can do things like disable Bluetooth when X device disconnects, but a) you have to know how to write the task and b) they probably draw as much current as the Bluetooth radio on standby. Auto Bluetooth doesn't need any programming, but it's limited in what triggers turn on or turn off.
