Hi i have a samsung galaxy s8 and i dont use it for anything but calls and texts so theres no google account on it this morning i turned it on and i got a notification with a playstore icon (uptades are available for google chrome YouTube gmail and etc) google apps to be precise when i tapped on it playstore opened up with a message updating 8 apps left i tapped on cancel and it stopped a box popped up in the playstore (sign in) when i tapped on it.
It was a asking for a gmail account
There was just one option ( : )
So my question is that if theres no google account the phone why it was updating the apps is it normal ?

Those are not "purchased" (free apps downloaded using a Google account will be considered "purchased") apps but standard apps and Google may be able to force the update. If you don't have a Google account linked to the phone what's the harm in updating the apps you're not using anyway?
