I use apps like ifunny and reddit and there is an infuriating feature that automatically pauses what ever was playing in the background when a new video starts. Which is every few seconds on these apps.

Is there a way to disable this on a samsung galaxy s8?

The way Android works is typically only one app can control media audio at a time. If you are watching/listening to one thing, then start playing something else in another app, the first media will stop playing. If you are intentionally trying to play the videos in other apps, there isn't much you can do to keep both playing. If those videos are auto-playing and you don't want to see them, check the app settings to see if you can turn auto-play off (I don't use those specifically, but I have seen that option in Facebook's app).

Unfortunately, nope. That's how the OS is designed: video playing takes over background media (as do audible notifications).
