Android Central Question

This happened when it showed the battery was charged to the 43% level.
Once I had it charged up to 100%, I had to cold start Android and it worked fine.
Prior to that the mobile just did not do anything.
Is this a sign of some parts are failing?
Once before when a similar malfunction occurred, I was driving, so I used the USB
charge port of my car (a Genesis sedan). Not only it did not charge my phone, it
was DISCHARGING IT and made my navigation system of the car behave strange,
it kept on scanning all fm stations, non-stop.
The dealership had no answer they never heard anything like that before.
This only happened once, but the unit's refusal to turn on even the battery shows charge, happened 5-6 times over the last 2 years. Any Ideas please?

Unfortunately, it's possible that the battery is near the end of its life, especially since the phone is 3½ years old at this point. If you regularly let the battery drain lower than 40% on a regular basis, then that is a real possibility.
