I get invalid recipient to a contact I've been able to text until today. Why is this?

Are you certain that the phone number of the recipient hasn't changed? Maybe a + was added or deleted? Maybe there's no phone number there at all for some reason? If you manually type in the number, does it work, or does it say "invalid recipient"?
