Notification Settings Issue

So I have set custom app notifications in the settings to "show but hide contents" for all WhatsApp content. However, I am looking to customise notifications for individual (different coloured lights for personal, work etc) and doing this in WhatsApp itself is overriding those "show but hide contents" settings and causing the contents of messages to appear on the lock screen.

Is there a fix for this? Or a different way of setting things to stop this happening?

Which phone you have?
Can go maybe lock screen and try hide sensitive info there.
