If you're talking about the original Note Edge, it has a 3000mAh battery as well. Due to inefficiencies inherent in charging batteries (especially from another battery), that doesn't mean the power bank will charge a full 3000mAh into the phone. You may be lucky to get about 75% charged once, if the phone is turned off during charging.

If the phone is at zero they will only get about 50%

I've never used a power bank, so I wasn't sure how much of a loss there was, only that there is some.

It's not actually loss, it's just once the power equalizes between devices the current stops flowing. Both the juice pack and the device end up with 1500mAh

Well I was speaking in technical terms because there will be some loss during the transfer which is a bit different. The loss is the heat you feel during transfer or charging.

Depends what brand your using and such but they usually tell you about 500 cycles

Actually you can't tell how many times a power bank can charge a phone from the rated mah capacity alone. You also have to consider the voltage the battery stores it in. The batteries in the powerbank stores 3000mah in 3.7-4.2 volts, depending on the battery type. Let's say it stores in 3.7 volts of 3000mah. The USB outputs at 5volts though.

    3.7 x 3000 /5 = 2220mah

So the powerbank is only able to supply 2220mah out of the USB port, then you have to factor in heat loss. My guesstimate will be it will be able to give 2000mah.
If you're talking about the old Note Edge, then it will give you around 60%. If you're talking the new Note 9, it won't even be 50% of the full charge.

Of course this also depends on the brand. For example, Samsung mah statements on their powerbanks state the output mah, so for example their 5000mah powerbanks actually contain like 7000mah batteries or something like that. Another brand I know of that claims to advertise "actual" charging capacity of their power banks is Romoss. I have no idea of brands like Anker, Aukey, or Tronsmart advertise the battery capacity or charge capacity. I use a Bavin powerbank, been using it for 2 years and it serves me well. It has a 9000mah battery capacity, so it charges my S9 twice.

You are correct but In the case of the charger the OP mentiond it can't even charge it once assuming the Note is at zero. If the Note is apx at 50% it may not get a 100% charge.

The OP's question is unclear. I thought he was asking how many times can he charge his device without recharging the juice pack.

Yeah , I took it as how many times the power bank will charge their phone according to the title.
