Wanted: Andoid Repeat Notification Text Setting by Contact(s)

Android hive mind assistance sought: I get a zillion texts, and do not want repeat notification for all of them. Is there a way in regular Android Messenger to set a repeat text-received sound notification (say, every 2 or 5 minutes) for texts by single contacts, but not for everyone? And if regular Messenger can't do it, is there a 3rd party texting or notification program for Android that will handle that function? Thanks!

Unfortunately, nope. The repeat notification is a general toggle and cannot be applied to specific contacts. In phones like Samsung's latest you can further customize this using their GoodLock plugins by creating filters (still a bit cumbersome and not straight forward, but at least it's possible) and you might be able to do that with automation apps like Tasker or IFTTT for non-Samsung devices, but it'll still require some programming, especially for the custom contact list.

Don't expect to see it for many, many months, if they do decide to implement it, though. That would probably show up around Android S or T (probably in the Google Messages app, or the Contacts app).
