Android Central Question
When I open it appears a message says, " Settings has stopped Unexpectedly Would you like to send an error report to htc ?
Welcome to Android Central! Which HTC phone? Does this persist after a reboot, or in Safe Mode?
Hi! Here are the steps for Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28612. The fact that the problem came back after updating all of your apps (which presumably includes apps you installed yourself) supports the possibility that one of those apps is causing the problem.
Does this only happen when you try to go to the Display & Gestures menu, or does it happen if you try to open anything in the system settings?
Did you ever Disable any system apps in the Settings>Apps menu?
When that error report pops up does it give option info? When I open it appears a message says, " Settings has stopped Unexpectedly Would you like to send an error report to htc ?

Hi everyone. I'm also having exactly the same problem, only with the Display and Gestures setting. All exactly as per the OP. If anyone has solved this, I'd be most appreciative.
HTC Desire 628 (not dual sim), all updated with latest updates. I've been using the phone without problems for a few years, and this issue only surfaced after I did a hard reset.
Thank you.
