    Hello,

I have bought a Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus 3 months ago. A few weeks ago, I bought a Gigamax headphone set.

Everything worked fine until a few days ago, while I am listening to music with headphones plugged in, the volume decreases to 0. I have read that it might be a built in mic in my headphones that is exposed to sound, so it decreases the volume to 0. But I don't seem to find any built in mic on my headphones. I also have read that it might be a protecting system of new phones to protect the user from high volumes, but this happens out of the blue while I'm listening. Even at the lowest volume. I tried touching several parts of my phone and headphones, but it just decreases when I touch certan parts, which are the power button and down until the place where the headphone jack is located. When I touch these parts, it lowers the volume. I touch them another time, but when I do that nothing happens!

I don't listen to music while I'm jogging or anything, I listen to it while i'm listening to music at home and browsing facebook/youtube/doing anything else, and when I happen to touch one of the places I mentioned above (especially the headphone jack and around it), it decreases the volume to 0. Sometimes when I try to increase the volume again, it keeps persisting and decreasing the volume to 0!

Please if you know a solution, don't be selfish with your information and tell me! And if you have the same problem, also tell me, because when i find the solution I will tell you.

Thanks in advance... I'm looking forward to a reply kind strangers

Sounds like a hardware problem based on your description. Check to see if there's lint in the headphone jack, also try other headphones.

Welcome to Android Central! Are those headphones specifically "Made for iPhone"? If so, they're probably not entirely compatible with your Android device, since iPhone headphones jacks are configured differently.

    Update:
I removed my phone case and listened to music with my headphones. And guess what - nothing happened! I am puzzled now, but I think my phone case is to blame because it does something for the headphones as I concluded from what happened after I had removed it

The case was probably preventing full insertion of the headphone jack.
