Android Central Question

My wife dropped her phone off the bed a few weeks ago. The phone was completely dead so I plugged it up to the computer and was able to get it turned on and forced restarted it. However over the last two weeks it will not turn on or charge at all. When holding the power button and volume down button all I get is a red battery light with an x. I have phone insurance to get a replacement but I am trying to find out if I can do anything else to fix it. Like download a software update from my computer then load it on the phone itself.

Hi, if you can register a account here me or other members be happy to assist you.

If you can't charge it anymore and completely dead , you won't be able to load anything into the phone . If you have insurance use it .

Even if you could get to the bootloader, if you didn't already have it unlocked (in Developer options) you can't unlock it in the bootloader to load the firmware. Your choice - don't keep it unlocked it and have no have access to the bootloader if the firmware crashes, or keep it unlocked at the expense of a little security if it's stolen.
