[Android Central Question]

My Tecno CA7 (camon X) fell in water and seized working. I got it flashed by someone and it started working again. But I found out both of my SIM cards weren't working anymore. The SIM cards are always closed and it shows no SIM card. I checked the IMEI and they were both gone. Some said if I rewrite the IMEI, it will work again. First, is that the right solution? and if so how can I rewrite it, with what software? if that's not the solution, What can I do?

PS: everything else on the phone including the camera and sd card works perfectly, except the SIM cards that are not coming.

I don’t know about rewriting IMEIs, but obviously hardware damage has occurred, and furthermore, may be ongoing.

IMEI rewriting is illegal in most countries because that's how phones are cloned. On that basis would speak to whoever you got the phone from

^ I assumed that the OP meant rewriting with the original IMEI. If a different one, yes, definitely illegal.

Welcome to Android Central! It's odd that it would start working after flashing a ROM. Water damage is hardware damage, so flashing a ROM typically doesn't help.
