Why does my lockscreen go straight to the password keypad when I turn on my phone?

Android Central Question

I have an S7, and recently most of the time when I turn on my phone via home button or power button it goes directly to the screen where I would enter my password. Like it doesn't even show my lock screen it just goes to the password. I'm worried it could be malware.

I think the OP is referring to the initial screen that shows up with the clock and any notifications. Probably the AOD screen on Samsung phones.

I'm surprised you haven't tried or even referred to my Safe Mode suggestion, considering that as you say you are worried about malware. It takes about thirty seconds. There's no need to fear Safe Mode. Bad things won't happen. It's one of the most useful diagnostic features of Android phones.
