What happened to my draft text?

I can't find an answer that works with my situation.
I have a ZTE Z958 on simple mobile plan
I was working on a text and had to do something else so I saved it as a draft. I had entered a number to send it to, but it wasn't in my contact list. When I tried to retrieve the draft, it shows it and it says the recipient is anonymous and lets me click on it to open but it shows no message. Does anybody know what I can do?
