I have an Huawei y6 2019 and, whilst I can increase volume limit to max, max volume simply isn't loud enough. I suspect this is a result of an EU directive but someone showed me an IPhone and it had a button which said 'Turn off EU volume limit?` Isn't it time that the EU gave us the option whether we want to go deaf not? Personally, I'd rather risk it than listen to music so quiet you can hear the cars go past. In the meantime, is there a hack which isn't an app as all apps seems to distort sound when increasing volume? Or can someone tell me which smartphone operators allow you to turn off all volume limits, not the just increase to above the recommended limit to a device maximum volume, which is still very quiet. Thanks

This is a problem that has impacted users worldwide. I'm not aware of any method to address this without an app. It may be possible via rooting, but that's beyond my skills and would have its own risks.

If you're having issues with this while using the headphone jack, you can try this app.

It doesn't boost the volume of the music file, but uses the headphone jack as a trigger to automatically adjust the media volume of the phone. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated since 2012, so it may not work on your phone. If not, I'd look for similar apps instead of ones that boost the volume of the files themselves.

That should be settable in /audio_policy_configuration.xml, but the phone has to be rooted to get to it.
