Control phone experia M with broken screen with a mouse and OTG cable

[Android Central Question]

My phone is a sony experia M , can i use an OTG cable and a mouse to
control the screen and copy the data to an sdcard .
my screen is fine ,but the touch screen does not work,
i can turn on the phone and turn it off .
using the power button,volume combo.

Welcome to Android Central! OTG cables are cheap, so it's worth a try. But it depends on what data you're talking about. Discrete files (like photos, videos, music, and documents) can be easily copied, but system data (like text messages, contacts) might be more difficult -- it depends on if those apps have an option to export data to the SD card.
