I have a Samsung A8 cell - the default duration on every event I add in my calendar is an hour - this takes up way too much time - and space when viewing.

I only want it to be 30 min, but can't seem to find a way to change it.

I did change the default duration from my laptop's Google calendar (also same issue), but that didn't cross over to my Android.

    Is it possible??

Just looked in my Samsung calendar
If you tap on the event in the calendar mine is default 30 minutes before event so you can choose it

Hi - thanks - I created an account. Are you're thinking of the default *notification* time setting? I change when I get notifications that all the time - I want to change the *duration of each event* - that defaults to one hour (if event is set for 3:00 pm, the end time is 4:00 pm unless I change it right then and there. I was hoping to change is to automatically be half an hour.

Hi - thanks - I created an account. Are you're thinking of the default *notification* time setting? I change when I get notified of the event for almost every entry. :P

I want to change the default *duration* of each event. I.e., if an event is created for 3:00 pm, the end time is automatically 4:00 pm unless I change it right then and there. I was hoping to change the default to half an hour (i.e., if an event is 3:00, the end time is automatically 3:30).

I feel like this might not be possible

(And sorry! Brand new to this forum - I thought I was deleting my first reply - typos and it didn't seem as clear as it should be. The last one (#6) is the most accurate.)

The OP is referring to the length of the appointment, not the prior warning appointment. Unfortunately the default appointment length of 1 hour cannot be changed.

Yep - you were referring to the notification time, which I adjust (and add) regularly, depending on my event.

As noted in my initial question, I'm referring to the DURATION of the event itself.

Thanks Galactic Zoo! I really didn't think it was possible (I've looked into it a number of times), but I really dislike that 1 hour default. I might just have to find a phone that can do that
    Cheers!

I appreciate that when you post an entry you may change the duration but I find the easiest way is by linking my Samsung Calendar to my Google Calendar where the default is set to 30 minutes.
