Android Central Question

Hi! I have downloaded a book from an app (only available for Android) but it only allows me to read it inside the app. I'm almost certain the book is an individual file and it's stored on the phone. I'd like to extract the book to read it on PC, however, when I go to the app folder it appears "empty". Can someone help me?
thanks in advance!
PS: I have a Samsung Galaxy s8 no root if that matters

Depends on the app you're using but most apps like these use proprietary,encrypted,device-specific, DRM-protected files. Unless the app/service allows for DRM-free common format (usually ePub or PDF) downloads, even if you could find the file and copied it over to another device,it wouldn't work since it is encrypted and linked to a specific device ID.

It's probably stored in one of the app's folders - which you can't get to without rooting the phone. Somewhere in /data/data/<app's name>. You can get to /data but if the phone isn't rooted it looks like an empty folder (you don't have any rights in it, not even read rights).
