During phone calls the screen will blackout, making it difficult to respond to recorded prompts and perform other tasks on-screen during a phone call. Delays getting the screen to wake up have even caused recorded phone systems to hang up on me.

    I have "SmartStay" turned on.

I have Screen Timeout set at 10 minutes.

This is your proximity sensor that turns screen off from accidental touches

I'm assuming you're referring to when you have the phone on speakerphone. The phone is designed to turn the screen off after a pre-determined time. Mine does it. Now obviously the screen turns off when you put it to your ear. That is the proximity sensor. Could be that the sensor is faulty.

The screen shouldn't be turning off so soon after dialing a number; you should have plenty of time to enter additional number prompts. When you use the phone on speakerphone, can you not push the power button to turn the screen back on?

The screen timeout doesn't relate to a call. That is only so your lock screen doesn't engage.

Welcome to Android Central! If you're not on speakerphone and the screen is blacking out immediately, then do you have a screen protector on? A poorly fitting screen protector that blocks the proximity sensor is one of the more common causes of this issue.

11B1P's link worked for me on my Chromebook. It's probably an Android Central app or Tapatalk app issue.
