Android Central Question

Just recently updated my galaxy tab s3- and now when I plug in the charger, with the screen off, it will show the standard glowing ring with the battery percentage on screen, turn off, then turn on again saying it is charging, the turns off again, then back on, displaying the battery percentage with the icon, and it won't turn off.

This is supremely annoying, are there any solutions to this problem?

Welcome to Android Central! Does it still happen if you apply pressure to the plug in the USB port? I'm wondering if there might be a loose connection there.

Hello! Sadly it's not a question of the charger, plug, or cable, as I have swapped out between multiple cables and chargers, holding pressure or not.

Yes, the charge port is clean, and I have cleared the cache in recovery, no luck, it still says "charging" in the lower quadrant of the screen, flickering off, and then showing the battery icon typically in the top right, down in the bottom middle.

Does it still happen in safe mode ?

New update : now it's throwing up a notification that it's "fast charging" and when I press the home button, it puts up the notification that it might default to slow charge if the correct charger isn't used (it is on the correct charger)

I have fast charge disabled as well, so this is even more confusing.
