Android Central Question

How do i remove the "removed apps from users" it is eating up my data.

I have 2 samsung 7 edge phones. Only one of them has this issue.

Re: How do i remove the "removed apps from users" it is eating up my data.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you seeing that in the Settings>Data Usage menu? That just groups together the mobile data that any app you recently uninstalled used during the past data cycle. That should clear out at the start of the next cycle, and if you don't uninstall any apps, that won't go up more.

Re: How do i remove the "removed apps from users" it is eating up my data.

It's all Background data usage.

I get this too, and when I tap it shows me that zero date was foreground, 100 percent was done background.

Supposedly, I had an app that used a huge amount of data, all in the background, then I deleted it?

Many times people have asked about why so much data was used by deleted apps.

People answer, saying this is caused by an app that was deleted.

Really?

Then why on every screenshot people post is ALL of the data always background?

Seriously, are you telling me that I had an app and never used any data in the foreground?

None?

Are you telling me that an app used a half gig of data, all in the background? And then I deleted it?

What app does this?

I have a brand new phone. This happened in the first week.

Please tell me: What app uses no data in foreground, a half gig in the background?

Thanks.

Facebook for one.

(It depends on how the app it written - I can write a web browser that shows that all the browsing you did was done in the background.)

As far as showing after you delete the app, once it's use, it's going to show, whether the app is still there or not. If your cat knocks over your glass of mile, drinks it all up, and you kill the cat, is the milk still gone?

Keep in mind that the listing is for all deleted apps, not just one. So it pools the data used by all deleted apps for a certain time period. And yes, many apps can use a fair amount of background data, so it's up to you to be aware of them and be vigilant -- those app developers have no obligation to tell you how much data they're using. But I've never seen it where, as you say, ALL of the data is background data.

Which phone do you have? It would be helpful to see screenshots of what you're describing. http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html

'I have a brand new phone'.
This is a clue.
As you setup your phone, as mentioned esp with fb, each app will want to sync and others update.
Go to the Settings, check your data usage and you will see what is using your data.
Good luck
