Samsung S9 corrupted, won’t start up
Hi. I’m having massive issues with my S9 and the Samsung shop we’re no help.
My phone won’t start up and goes into Android Recovery continuously. It powered down in the night and is now unusable.
Is there anything I can do to fix that would not involve deleting my data and photos?
Many thanks!!
Peter

If you had everything sync and back up you won't lose any date , but either going try factory reset if u can get into recovery or flash the firmware again

Thanks for linking back.
So I haven’t backed up, can I do anything to get the old data? Any software or any way I can fix the recovery issue?

Ok this going be tough to save anything, factored restore will wipe everything, now if you flash through Odin you put the files in the slot with CSC use home CSC might have a chance to save data , but no guarantee

Ok that sounds complicated - are there any step by step instructions?

Not as bad as it sounds
But you'll need Odin 3.13.1 download and the firmware at sammobile website.
Download both to your computer
Watch a couple YouTube videos to get familiar with flashing your s9 and put your model number at sammobile website and your Carrier and look and use the latest security date.
Once you do that I can you move from there
Re: Samsung S9 corrupted, won’t start up
Step by step instructions are at [Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN
The reason it's going into recovery is because the boot sequence is
Bootloader -> which loads Recovery
Recovery -> which loads Android
If Android is missing - which seems to be your case, it stops at Recovery.
