Sims cards seem to last forever but you may find you will need a micro sim for your new phone. You will need to ask your carrier for a replacement

SD cards have a spec for expected read/write cycles. They range from 500 to 100,000. Very roughly TLC has 500-1000 cycles. MLC 3k-10k. SLC 50k+

If you use a SIM card (it's the same electronically as an SD card) for what it's made for - wrote once - read many - it should last a long time. I have some SD cards that are close to 20 years old - and still completely readable.

The OP is asking about SIM cards, though. I'd guess SIM cards don't experience frequent read/write cycles, but I could be wrong.

To the OP -- realistically, SIM cards are cheap, and many carriers will give you a replacement for free, so I wouldn't sweat it.
