Welcome to the forums. .jpg is the most common image file type, which is why you found it in the photo album. Did you try to open it? What makes you think it's malicious?

I don't think it has a virus because you'll be complaining how the device is running , can you post a screenshot of it just block personal Information?

It's extremely unlikely that a jpg file would be malicious. You said you keep getting it, so see if it downloads again from somewhere and let us know if it does.

According to this thread and a technical article linked in it, this is related to Google Pay and is a security check of some sort added to your SD card.

    https://androidforums.com/threads/wh...2-jpg.1029792/

I personally wouldn't be too concerned about it.

/storage/emulated/0 is Internal Storage. /storage/emulated/1 would be the SD card if it were present.

Google Mobile Services is for more than just Google Pay, as the link I shared describes.

Play, not Pay. Play Services, specifically. It's a 1X1 .jpg of nothing. (Basically, a picture of a pixel.)

Hi- I'm having the same gmsnet2.jpg in emulated/0 storage- the image is just black with a small white square in the center.

I've deleted it, it returns. I do not use an SD card, nor do I use apps like Google pay, Samsung pay etc (tho it doesn't stop them from installing on my phone or updating).
I have a paid subscription to malware bytes which has never hit on it (nor anything else at all actually- I don't have a single whitelisted app for a year?)

I use a Samsung galaxy s8+ but I'm currently having many issues with my device idk if they're related or not. I recently checked my imei online & it doesn't match my physical phone description but it used to? So I really have no idea what this file could be related to...
