Messages V5.0.062 not recognizing all of my contacts

Messages V5.0.062 not recognizing all of my contacts all of my contacts are tied to a single google account. Some are fine but some have lost the pic I assigned to the contact, when I click on the "stock" avatar it should take me to the contact but it takes me to add new contact.

Sorry , Yes Google Messages on a Samsung Galaxy S10 + , if I switch to the Stock Samsung SMS its displaying all contacts correctly.

In the Contacts app, just to be sure, go to the Customize View option and see if there are any contacts that might be from the Phone account or Samsung account. Or select one of the contacts that isn't showing the avatar pic correctly and tap the Menu button to see if there's an Unmerge or Unjoin option (which would suggest that duplicate contacts were merged).

I don't have a customize option app Contacts version 10.2.20.10, all of my contacts are from a single google account.

Try clearing the app cache for the Messages app.
