Android Central Question

This seems to have been asked in some forms , but not a complete description before , so one more time :

Wife has a Note 9 on ATT. She had it for a year and all worked fine . At home phone connects to WiFi , and has WiFi calling enabled . Spontaneously , with no apparent cause , the phone started having issues with incoming texts that contain images (MMS). Those texts would say “downloading” but would never display . This happened at another location when connected to WiFi , and possibly happened while connected to 4g/LTE outside of the house .

She turned off WiFi connection on phone , and now it works fine , which is frustrating because to get good internet speed she has to reconnect to WiFi, but to get text images she has to disconnect. We have noticed our cell signal is less than it used to be at home , not sure if this is contributing factor or not .

So .... 1) it used to work fine
2) now it doesn’t
3) WiFi connection/router/provider at home hasn’t changed
4) works when she turns off WiFi connection

Is there a setting she inadvertently changed , or that an update could have changed ? Plenty of people have posted that mms won’t work over WiFi, but ..... IT USED TO. For a year it worked perfectly with zero issue .

Surely someone can suggest a simple fix . Thanks

Interesting. Oddly , she can send mms from her note regardless of her connection type, but then cannot receive . I have an iPhone , she has the note 9, but she has had issues receiving mms from both Apple and android products

For receive maybe on hers try long press the message app and tap info , then scroll to storage and clear data, cache, force stop that app
