2012 Samsung GT-P7510 tablet was Reset to facory settings .

It now won't cut and paste as before it only pastes in a long linear line of words and not the formatted text that I cut.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you try installing a different keyboard, like Gboard?

FYI, a 7 year-old tablet is going to start running into a lot of compatibility issues with major apps, since many of the app developers will likely drop support for the device's OS version (if they haven't already). So it's probably worth looking into getting a more modern tablet.
