Welcome to Android Central! "Disabling" and "Enabling" apps are specific actions in the Settings>Apps menu -- you can Disable certain preinstalled apps, which prevents them from opening or updating. These preinstalled apps can't be uninstalled, so the closest you can get to uninstalling them is to Disable them. But it doesn't sound like that's your problem. Are you saying that you see the app icons on your homescreen, but tapping them does nothing? Or do they try to open, and then close immediately?
