Hello. I just became an Android user, and I love it. So far, I am only bugged by one thing.

When I get an email in my gmail app, I get a notification. I then enter the app and view the email and delete it or archive it. But the notification is still there. I am used to the notifications going away without actually needing to interact with the notification itself. Interacting with what the notification was regarding was always enough.

    Is this doable on Android?

Which phone do you have ? Also are you using a 3rd party launcher, you can also try force close the Gmail app and should make the badge go away.I'll leave a link to register so you can communicate here , as a guest account you can't.https://forums.androidcentral.com/sh...d.php?t=409154

Welcome to Android Central! Does the phone also have its own stock Email app, and if so, did you add your Gmail account to that as well? If so, you might be getting duplicate notifications, and the one that remains is from your stock Email app.
