what type of cable do I need to charge my phone in the car.

I have a pixel 3 and a car that has USB 2 ports in it. The Pixel 3 uses USB 3. What cable do I need to charge my phone in the car?

Any USB cable as USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB 2

That's going to give you a slow charge, though. If you want a faster charge, you'll need a car charger, preferably one capable of 18 Watts of PD charging (or more to allow for expansion in the future, when you have a phone that can take more of a charge).
