How do I get rid of black line on my display?

There is a 1/2 inch dark black line at the bottom of my display.. What can I do to get rid of this?

No I'm not.. Not til tomorrow.. When the issue first happened, which was a few days ago, it would go away after a few minutes but now it won't go away at all

So I just took a screen shot and drew where it's messed up on my phone.. I hope this helps

I'm guessing that it could. It would need repairer diagnosis. Of course, I may be wrong in thinking that it's a hardware fault. We have an expert on these things, whom I shall ping.

Anything you see on the screen that doesn't show in a screenshot is being generated by the screen or associated wiring (a screen shot is actually a "memoryshot" of the RAM that's being sent to the screen).

It's possible that the screen is divided into bands, one wire for each band, and one wire, or one pin on the connector, is bad, but I'd be more inclined - if I were working on it - to plug in a known-good screen first. If that didn't show the band, I'd replace the screen. (It's going to take a real repair shop, not a "replace parts" shop.)
