[Android Central Question]

Phone: Razer phone 2
Provider: Verizon
Plan: unlimited everything

I'm able to put the sim card into a iPhone and receive messages from android users and non android users... but when i switch back to my new phone it doesn't receive anything.

Things ive done:
- Re-flashed the ROM
- rooted the phone
- Installed a completely different SMS app
- Radio reset
- Activation reset
- Clearing cache
- clearing sim messages (there was nothing)
- iMessage unauth
Ive done everything i have seen on the internet... this is my last hope

I can do everything Verizon provides except receive SMS...

You've tried many steps , have you verified the APN is correct? Maybe another member can help @Mooncatt

Is the Razer a phone similar to the Oneplus in that it does not have cdma? You might have to activate CDMA-Less on your account.

Did you go into your Verizon account online or call them to activate the phone that way, or just put the existing SIM in and hope for the best? I activated my Razer Phone 2 from their website before trying the SIM and it worked without issue. This thread gives some fairly detailed steps as well.

You are correct (at least it doesn't have Verizon's CDMA bands), but I'm not sure that method applies anymore. When I activated mine, I did have a slight issue due to not having an LTE signal at the time that prevented the phone from properly registering on the network, but I didn't have to request a specific CDMA-less activation. I did it through the Verizon website, so that may have just automated the switch.

When I got my Oneplus I did the same thing but could not get it to work that way. I called and had them activate the CDMA-LESS to my account. It started working in about an hour. Good luck.
