Android Central Question

I've tried everything, but I can't get my moto g4 to connect via USB. The USB cord is proven good, does data and power, MTP does NOT show up under device manager, nor does "other devices", etc.

I've tried the MTP Porting kit, to no avail. Moto Device Manager doesn't work either.

I don't want to lose all the stuff on my phone. Can I just reset the USB ports? All the USB ports on my W7 PC work fine, and recognize other devices.

Any ideas?

Safe mode didn't work for me, and it doesn't show up in Explorer, or Device Manager. I think it might be driver, but the Moto Device Manager didn't do anything, and I was unable to get new copy of a MTP/USB driver. Both would exercise "control" on the PC side (vs. on the phone side of things).
