    I get we now have to change from portrait to landscape to stop videos from the phone copying sideways onto pc. but is there a way to correct sideways videos on pc?

    Not sure what you are trying to say here.

    When you record a video on the phone, the EXIF data in the video should say which way is up.
    When you copy the video to the PC, the EXIF data should still be there and still say which way is up.

    If you recorded the video in portrait mode (tall and skinny) on the phone, the PC should display it the same way. Ditto for landscape mode.

    If you want to change the orientation on the PC, you can use a video editor to rotate the movie, so that it is sideways. Not sure if you would want that.
    You can use a video editor to crop the portrait movie to a landscape shape by discarding most of the pixels.
