My pixel phone does not seem to offer a way to distinguish between text message notifications and system status notifications. Am i missing something?

My pixel phone does not seem to offer a way to distinguish between text message notifications and system status notifications. I have hunted in the "advanced" settings for the messaging app, but end up in the same place - a notification is a notification is a notification. afaik, iphones have this ability.

Hi, and thanks! I dont think my phone is operating that way. a long press on the messaging app simply brings up the most recent/highest frequency (?) people i have messaged. if i go to the app/settings/incoming messages i have the choice of sound or silent. advanced takes me to the default notification sound. i think i need to change either the notification sound for text messages, or the notification sound for system alerts, to something different. that last option doesnt seem to exist. again, thanks, and thanks in advance!
