How to stop instant file creation on connected usb?

[Android Central Question]

Hi all,

I have just purchased a P30 pro having upgraded from Mate 10 pro so on a new processor etc.

I regularly connect USB sticks to my phone to transfer files over so that I can show them on PC/TV etc.

On m last phone it always created a LOST file but that was all, on my new phone it creates multiple files including movies, documents, pictures etc etc.

Can this be stopped so that when I connect a USB it only transfers the or creates files I tell it to?

It is almost like when I connect a drive to the phone it is making it into external storage and therefore instantly creating relevant files it may require.

No, these files are a part of the OS which need to be there for the card to be seen and to function.

Welcome to Android Central! Keep in mind that those are mostly just empty folders. Are actual files being created in those folders?
