Why can't a person am calling hear me while i hear her?

[Android Central Question]

When making a call, am able to hear the voice of the person am calling but he can't hear me, am able to listen to the WhatsApp voice note and hear them but when I also try to make a voice note it just sent a silent message to the other party. What could be the cause?

A bad microphone? Something blocking the microphone?
Does your voice recorder app work?

Welcome to Android Central! Can the other person hear you if you use speakerphone, or a wired or Bluetooth headset?

If you record a video and play it back, do you hear audio in both stereo channels, or just one?
