I have a samsung TV and a samsung phone and they both communicate with each other really well. I have the ability to stream my TV to the phone so that when i'm in the kitchen I can still watch whats on the TV.
If I get a new non Samsung phone can you still stream TV to phone?
Obvously with chrome cast you can do phone to TV but does it allow TV to phone?

Is the phone using some app that allows that? I'm not aware of a native method through which a TV can send the video to a mobile device, it usually goes the other way.

    Samsung has Smart view app.
If you read the reviews on the app, it seems that Samsung has "done a Samsung" on it now - it doesn't work the way it used to. (Which is a good reason to turn working apps into apk files and save them off the phone.)

Its doesnt do it via an app. Smart view is built in to Samsung's one ui. Theirs an icon for it in the area that you drag down from the top of the screen. It detects the samsung tv and gives you the option to stream the phone to the TV or the TV to the Phone.

Just wondered if theirs an option to do the TV to phone thing with non samsung phones. Even it would require an app.
