My Redmi Note 7 was submerged in a pail of water so I had to dry it for a few days. I opened it and it worked great for a while but after a few hours, the screen went black. I had to wait for a couple of hours before it turns back to normal. After a few hours, the same thing happened again. What could possibly cause this? Is the LCD screen the problem?

Not too surprising -- likely the water damage has caught up with the device.

Not really. Even if you bought a replacement screen and tried to install it yourself, there's no guarantee that'll fix it, since the water damage could be affecting some other connection or component. It's probably too late now, but you can try the method described here: [GUIDE] Oh, no! My Phone got Wet! - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
