LG to LG mobile phone transfer

[Android Central Question]

I am upgrading from a LG G6 mobile phone to a LG v40 model.

I intend to use the same SIM card and micro sd card currently installed in the LG G6 in the LG v40.

Do I take the SIM card and micro sd card out of the LG G6 and install the same SIM card and micro sd card into the new LG v40 before I use the LG Mobile Switch function??

It doesn’t matter. The app transfers personal data from the old phone to the new, wirelessly. What is on the SIM and SD are not relevant.

There is an option to save the backup data to the micro-SD card if you want. When I did it a while back, the backup file was rather huge at around 1.5GB, so it was quicker to do it that way. The process was quick and easy.
