Why does it shows 3G/4G, even when my data is off?

I just updated my phone from Android 9 to Android 10.
The problem is that it keeps showing the available network whether it's 3G or 4G in front of signals bar even when my Mobile Data is turned off. It is very for me. As I always have to check if data is actually on or not.

For a start. Switch on Plane Mode and check if it is still there. I checked for you and my Xiaomi does not do the same. It is not an answer but a start.

Welcome to Android Central! When mobile data is off, the cell radio is still on, so it may still be reporting the network it's connected to. Remember that a number of carriers no longer use 2G, so they would use 3G or 4G for voice calls as well, not just mobile data.
