trying to decide between these 2 tabs.

i'm a fan of samsung, i like there build quality and hardware and the fact that they have a nice thin tablet. the only con i see about the galaxy tab is the lack of sd/micro sd card slots which the asus tab has.

as for the asus tab i'm not to keen on the rounded back of it but other wise it looked like a nice tab with i played with it at bestbuy.

just wanted to get some others feedback on what they think of these tabs.

the keyboard dock is what sold me on the transformer personally. the 8.9" on the tab is probably a really nice sweet spot as far as size goes, but the ability to go from tablet to netbook was important to me. personally, if you can afford it (and if you can find one) i would actually get the new transformer prime from asus. all 3 are great tablets though, and you wont go wrong whichever you choose

It is all about what you want to do with it. The GT is nice and light, but the TF is much more versatile. If you want a device that can pretend to be a PC and also be an awsome tablet then the TF is your winner.

Either one is a great device so you are set either way.

Is the Samsung tablet hardware as bad as their phones? Do they have that horrible TouchWiz interface?
I had a Samsung Fascinate, and the only thing positive that I can say about it was that the AmoLED display was nice. I will go out of my way for a few now to avoid Samsung anything.
In your case, what is the $$ difference? What is the storage difference?
I got my Asus with 32GB for under $400. I'm happy. And it has an add on micro SD card slot. That nailed it.

Samsung has a bad habit of having devices that look great on paper but suck in real life usage. I have owned 12+ Samsung devices. Everything from monitors to smart phones all but the monitors have been let downs and they don't even build them either, might be way.

I bought an Asus Eee Pad Transformer 16gb plus a 64gb SDcard for just over $350. I can't understand why the 32gb model was $100 more when the 64gb SDcard was only $100.

Added bonus, XDA has a nice amount of Dev work going on for us TF owners also. No idea why it hasn't made it over to here yet

I have always liked samsung hardware - nice and light but not cheap - great screens - and usually thin. I think the galaxy tab is a better looking and feeling tablet - just not as versatile.

I chose the TF for the sd card slot, the expandability of the dock, and the price tag difference when I bought it. I like things that are good at a lot of things even if that means they aren't great at any one thing. The TF is a swiss army knife. The galaxy tab is just a knife but a great one.
